The Womens Center provides technical assistance to the small
business owner in the areas of:

COMMERCIAL AND CONSUMER LOAN SERVICES
CHARO is a leading Small Business Administration (SBA) certified intermediary,
successfully packaging bank loans for Southern California business owners
since 1990. CHARO has a proven track record of assisting entrepreneurs to
access capital from financial institutions, totaling over $28,000,000 in small
business loans funded.

ENTREPRENEURIAL
TRAINING PROGRAM (ETP)
CHARO's California Institute of Business Management conducts the successful
Entrepreneurial Training Program (ETP), designed to assist entrepreneurs to
build and grow their business.
Business Planning Basics is an intensive 11-week course on entrepreneurship
offered to business owners at convenient hours for people with full schedules.
The program is taught by professionals who have business education and real-world
experience. Classes are available in English and Spanish.
By the end of the 11-week course you will complete:

WORKSHOPS/SEMINARS
This
group training includes one-time topic specific seminars offered to business
owners. Topics covered may include:
- Financial management assistance covering general accounting management such as financial planning, budgeting and cash flow analysis management, bookkeeping, and accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory control
- Access to markets and marketing assistance to develop marketing plans, and strategies for specific products including product definition, pricing, positioning, and vendor procurement
- Access to capital
- Human resources management to review recruitment, hiring and training of staff needs

BIDCENTER MARKETPLACE
The BidCenter Marketplace is an online community of buyers and suppliers.
All transactions are completed electronically through the Internet. The goal
of the Marketplace is to provide companies and government entities an opportunity
to purchase goods and services from minority owned businesses.

SMALL BUSINESS ENEWSLETTER (FREE SUBSCRIPTION)
This is monthly newsletter sent out by email for those who request it. We
will use this resource to communicate with you about events, training workshops,
new bid requests, and much more. We will also provide articles on completing
responses to bid requests, getting certified, business loans, business plans
and more.

BUSINESS INCUBATOR
The CHARO Business Incubator is a 36,000 sq. ft. shared services facility
that promotes business enterprise development within our community by helping
young firms survive and grow during the startup period. The Business Incubator
will house approximately 40 businesses.
Space is now available for 15-20 Phase I tenants.

RESOURCE ROOM
The Resource Room is available for use between 9am and 6pm Monday through
Friday, closed weekends and holidays. The resource room is equipped with high-end
computers, accessing the Internet at High Speeds for Business Research use.
The computers are also equipped with business software programs such as Business
Plan Pro, Marketing Plan Pro, the Microsoft Office Suite and more. Both the
Resource Room and the Womens Center offers a business resource library.

To start using any of the Womens Center services, you will need to complete
